CSR Software FAQs
CSR software is software companies use to launch, manage, and report on their CSR programs, which typically include workplace giving, employee volunteering, and community grantmaking.
CSR stands for corporate social responsibility. Companies set up CSR programs to launch, manage, and report on workplace giving, employee volunteering, and community grantmaking initiatives.
CSR programs typically encompass three initiatives within a company: workplace giving, employee volunteering, and community grants, also often referred to as corporate giving.
Workplace giving and matching programs are typically set up by a company to encourage employees to donate to either a specific cause or to a cause of the employee’s choosing. To incentivize donations, the company may pledge to match donations at a certain ratio, which is often 1:1, but it can go higher, like 4:1.
Employee volunteer programs are also typically set up by a company to coordinate volunteering events for employees. These volunteer events are often coupled with a volunteer time off (VTO) program so employees can take paid time off to participate.
With the right software, like Submittable and Bright Funds, employee resource groups (ERGs) or even individual employees can set up their own workplace giving and volunteering programs.
Community investment, also known as corporate giving or community grantmaking, is where a company or a foundation the company sets up (for example the Morgan Stanley Foundation) disburses grant funds to nonprofits. Often this is done through a grant application process managed using grant management software.
All three types of CSR programs can be managed as an overarching CSR program (sometimes referred to as a social impact program) by a CSR manager or social impact manager. CSR programs may also be managed in part by human resources professionals, marketing teams, or ESG professionals.
Submittable helps CSR teams through its workplace giving and employee volunteering software. CSR teams and the employees they work with like Submittable for its large selection of 9.6 million nonprofits around the globe–the largest selection in the marketplace. Submittable is also known for its intuitiveness and innovative features, like the Impact Wallet and the Submittable Impact Visa® Prepaid Card, that make it simple for employees to participate.
Submittable’s CSR software connects to Submittable’s grant management software and WeHero’s volunteer experiences to create a full suite of CSR tools.
WeHero creates curated employee volunteer experiences for in-person, remote, and hybrid workplaces. These hands-on experiences are proven to drive a deeper connection between employees and their company and sense of purpose, often catalyzing leaders of CSR programs from the ground up. Together with Submittable, WeHero rounds out a complete CSR software toolset, from planning CSR programs to executing and reporting on impact.
