Request a Revision

See how to flag one field for an applicant to fix without reopening the rest of their application.

When most of an application is fine, you can send back just the part that needs work. This tour shows how a program manager opens an application, picks the exact response that needs another pass, and tells the applicant what's missing. The applicant sees the request, makes the change, and resubmits.

What you’ll see

  • Open Admin Controls on any application and select Request a revision
  • Choose the exact response you want the applicant to refine
  • Say what you need: a question, a clarification, or more information
  • Send the request; the applicant makes changes and resubmits

Who it’s for

Program managers and grant administrators who review incoming applications.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ask an applicant to change one answer instead of the whole application?

Yes. You select the specific response you want refined and add a note explaining what you need.

What does the applicant see?

An alert showing which sections need edits and your request on each question. They update the answer, can leave you a comment, and resubmit. The Revising an Application tour shows their side.
