Tight, clear, powerful direction—would be easy to see how you could guide your work with that framework. 00:52:44 Brenda Ray Scott: @Tania - Powerful! 00:53:49 Ori Carmel: Ori Carmel, CEO at Sowen and Data Lead Advisor at Bloomberg Philanthropies. So excited to be here, and loving the conversation. 00:54:50 Brittany Murry: Sorry I'm late, but glad to join and listen in 00:55:29 Ori Carmel: YES. Data is the lifeline to impact. The voice (and insight) of the community HAS NOT been an integral part of the philanthropic structure, which leads to failed potential. Well said John. 01:00:08 Tania Carlisle: That was beautiful John 01:00:15 Melissa Yack Hall, she/her: @John!!! 01:01:35 Nora Moreno Cargie, (ella) Point32Health and Foundation: Also not where "we" want them to be. Bryan Stevenson's principle of proximity...those closest to the problem understand solutions are the best "problem solvers" 01:05:05 Ingrid Embree: amen 01:05:31 Rachel Hutchisson: I have such concerns about AI and writing. Writing is thinking. It’s strategy. It’s so fundamental - replacing it with AI replaces something fundamentally human. That’s just me. (And yes, I am a writer at heart.) 01:07:57 Ori Carmel: David- is that different to any other major technological advancement? 01:08:00 Rachel Hutchisson: Amen David, my friend! 01:08:11 Adine Zornow: Love that David! 01:12:40 Sandra Becker: @rachel Well said. 01:13:14 Marc Schleifer: I'd suspect many NGOs around the world that work at the community level, and in a very human-centered way, would point out that not everything can be automated, and that while various internal organizational processes can potentially be augmented by AI, if the work if fundamentally about changing peoples' lives, it will never stop requiring a human touch. This goes for organizations working to impact individual lives and working at the systemic level, for instance on issues of advocacy and policy. That work requires changing minds, often one at a time, and I don't think AI can necessarily address that. 01:15:59 Ashley A: @Marc well said. A lot of barriers to change are the stereotypes and misconceptions people have about inequities and the problems that non-profits are addressing. 01:16:30 Ingrid Embree: @marc the community-led orgs we work with at GlobalGiving (in 170 countries) generally love any way we can help them be more efficient and spend more time with their communities. But they are a critical part of the decision-making process. 01:16:30 Nora Moreno Cargie, (ella) Point32Health and Foundation: Yes Jaime! Shared value 01:19:37 Marc Schleifer: Thanks, Ashley, and +1 to your comment also. And to you, Ingrid, would love to hear more about your work. I will look you up on LinkedIn and send an invite to connect. Agreed 100% about being more efficient/effective. My point is more that not every problem is amenable to AI as a solution. 01:20:12 Shannon Cuffley: Here, Here John! 01:20:51 Ashley A: +1 John 01:21:39 Ingrid Embree: John can you pls work on climate too 01:22:11 Cynthia Mealy: (((Thank you)))) John Brothers! It’s NOT going to be comfortable! 01:22:41 Ingrid Embree: Love that question, Rachel 01:23:04 Rachel Hutchisson: Sam, you are so kind. Not sure I’m legendary.
